“The Mandela Rhodes Foundation continues to identify and nurture, in ever greater numbers, the next generations of excellent, ethical African leaders.”
Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela
The Mandela Rhodes Scholarships programme is a combination of financial support for postgraduate studies and a high quality leadership development programme, focused on the guiding principles of leadership, reconciliation, education, and entrepreneurship.
Donate any amount to support the work of the Mandela Rhodes Foundation.
Many of our donors (especially our alumni) are unable to fund an entire scholarship but still contribute towards the Scholarships Programme. We gratefully accept all contributions no matter how small. These are aggregated with other partial donations and, when they are sufficient to fund an additional scholarship we then add a further scholar to the cohort for that year.
Please note: Clicking the button below will take you to the King Baudouin Foundation, who process donations on our behalf.
Fund the full cost for a single scholar, or number of scholars, on a year-to-year basis.
The total commitment required is $50k per scholar being supported – which can be donated over a period of 2 years at a rate of $25k per year. As in the case of Endowment partners, these donors also get similar recognition by the MRF and the opportunity to engaged with the scholar(s) they support.
Whilst donations can still be paid via this US-based website – any donor wishing to support one (or more) scholars ‘in full’ should also get in touch directly with our Operations Manager, Ernst Gerber, to discuss this in more detail and then formalise the relationship between us. Click the button to email Ernst.
Support one or more Mandela Rhodes scholars each and every year – in perpetuity.
These donors receive full recognition for their support through the partnering of our name with theirs in respect of the scholarship(s) they support. Furthermore, they are provided with the opportunity (but not obligation) to develop a relationship with the scholars chosen for them.
The current capital commitment required to establish a single scholarship per year in perpetuity is $780k which can be donated over a period of 5 years at a rate of $156k per year.
Any donor wishing to become an Endowment Partner with the MRF on this basis should get in touch directly with our Operations Manager, Ernst Gerber, to discuss this in more detail and then formalise the relationship between us. Click the button to email Ernst.
Donations made in US$ and paid via this King Baudouin Charities website may be tax-deductible for US tax payers. All donors will receive a suitable receipt that, if appropriate, can be used in donor’s US tax filings.
